CMPC Prepares Study For Pulp Plant

Big Chilean group, CMPC, says it is working on an environmental impact report this year for the construction of a new pulp plant at Nacimiento, where the company already has the Santa Fe plant. Domtar curtails pulp and paper production

Domtar announced today that it has decided to curtail production at four of its mills during the month of July, in order to adjust its production to customer needs and avoid inventory build-up. The mills affected are Cornwall, Port Edwards, Port Huron and Woodland. During this downtime, 15,000 tons of paper and 7,000 tons of market pulp will not be produced. US-Home Sales Hit New Record In May

Weyerhaeuser Downtime on the B.C. Coast

Weyerhaeuser announced that five Crown timberlands operations and five sawmills, all on the coast of British Columbia, will take periods of downtime in July as a result of falling prices resulting from a general oversupply of lumber, high costs associated with operating on the B.C. New Plywood Plant in Chile

Paneles Arauco S.A. has chosen Raute as the main supplier of equipment to their greenfield ‘Itata’ plywood plant, which will be located in Nueva Aldea, 50 km northeast of Concepcion, Chile.
