Schauman Wood intensifies its activities in Russia

Schauman Wood, a company of UPM-Kymmene Wood Products Industry, strengthens its position in Russia by acquiring the majority of shares of ZAO Chudovo-RWS, a birch plywood mill operating in the Novgorod region. Survey kiln dryers drying up

The recently released results of kiln drying survey in New Zealand have shown there is still room for improvement in techniques. The survey by Forest Research has shown that although there have been improvements in drying quality, there is also a tendency to over-dry. Sale of Brazil forest properties

Norske Skog has concluded an agreement concerning the sale of its Pisa Florestal forest property in Brazil. The buyer is an investment fund advised by UBS Timber Investors, a global capability of UBS Asset Management. Bright Woods proposed processing plant largest in NZ and Australia

Bright Wood New Zealand's proposed processing plant at Milburn in the south of New Zealand is expected to be the largest of its kind in New Zealand and Australia. The company has received resource consents from the local authority, the Otago Regional Council.
