Finland: forest industry products export value 4% up in October 2017

The export value of the Finnish forest industry products totalled EUR 1.02 billion in October 2017. Compared to October 2016 export value increased by 4%, reports Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) in its statistics report.

The real export value in January-October 2017 totalled EUR 9.94 billion and decreased by 1% year-on-year (deflated using wholesale price index, 1949=100).

Moreover, in October 2017, Finland’s wood imports totalled 0.76 million cubic metres. The biggest import amounts were with pulpwood and chips. The share of pulpwood was 58% and the share of chips was 32%.

In January-October 2017, wood imports totalled 7.46 million cubic metres. Compared to same period of the previous year the amount of wood imports was again 10% smaller.
